By Susan de Castro McCann Redstone Review Editor LYONS - After spending years in high-stress jobs in New York City, Kat Caruso found herself with a few physical ailments and decided it was time to make some changes. 
She moved to Pinewood Springs and started Lots of Luv 'N Pet Care, LLC, in
November, 2002. The move and new business did more than change her life,
it revived her spirit. She now spends the days caring for animals while
their owners are away.
"I do pet sitting, training, behavior modification," said Caruso. "I also do pet handling at weddings, or parties and pet training for photos and other events. I take care of pets in their home. I come two or three times a day and I do feedings and walking dogs and training. I also do other things for pet owners. I take in the mail, water plants. I spend a half hour to 45 minutes depending on the animals' needs." Recently Caruso has stated a new business called www.HappyHealthyPets.biz. A secured website where she sells all-natural pet food and pet supplies with free shipping. On this site pet owners can find food for pets with allergies, weight control formulas, senior formulas with or without glucosamine and chondroiten, grooming aids, natural shampoos, treats, vitamins, supplements, training leashes, pet dishes and a wide variety of other products including collars that keep dogs from barking and virtual fences. "I believe in what Iım doing," said Caruso. "Why would you feed your animals food that you wouldnıt eat? In the last two years the natural products for pets industry has really been growing. I also carry citronella spray for protections against snakes." 
HappyHealthyPets came about after Caruso found out about six years ago that
she has a series of food allergies. "I began researching food," she said.
"I learned to eat foods that were better for me and I lost 55 pounds. Then
I saw several of my dogs and cats die of cancer and I decided to research
food for pets. Then I decided to start HappyHealthyPets because I wanted
to offer better and more nutritious food."
Caruso says she screens her clients carefully. "I want customers who treat their pets as family members," she said. "I give my clients a very detailed invoice of how their pet is doing. I watch their behavior and makes notes. I check their scat to make sure there are no problems with elimination. Some of my clients laugh at all the detail that I give them. I saw a great improvement with my own cat after kidney failure I put her on the vitamins and food that I sell and it really changes the way she feels and looks." Caruso sells several brands of natural pet foods including Flint River Ranch and Halo for dogs, cats, horses and birds. Customers can order by phone or online through a secured website.
