Kitty Care while we were away!

Hi Kat-Dog and Jill -
We made it home on Monday evening around 6:30 p.m. Everything looked fantastic when we got home :) The animals didn't look any worse for the wear and just everything was in ship-shape!
We cannot thank you enough for the excellent care you took of our kitties.

I'm glad you think our cats are sweet. They really are, 99% of the time, but they have their moments. :)

Dog Training - Murphy's story

MURPHY'S STORY(A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION)
I am writing this recommendation for Kat Caruso and her company Lots of Luv 'N Pet Care LLC with extreme appreciation. Kat began working with my four year old Labrador retriever, Murphy last winter. Due to health problems, I could not work with him enough and I was having problems controlling some of his wild behavior. Kat picked him up at my house and worked with him three times a week. I could tell right away that Murphy really liked her and that she was, like me, a dog person (a person that dogs sense naturally belongs with them and poses absolutely no threat). I would be shocked if any animal did not like her. One of my nicknames for Murphy is Mister Twister because he can be a wild squirming crazy man sometimes and I was, at first, somewhat surprised that Kat had no problem controlling him (he can be a real handful). Her training methods were gentle and instead of punishment and admonishment I was pleased to see her use positive reinforcement. And, while she ignored his bad behavior and refused to acknowledge it, her positive reinforcement paid off. It took a little while (Murphy's a hard case) but after a month or so he became a much improved dog. His performance on a leash and his response to commands improved drastically and, most of all, he became much calmer (thank God).
In the Spring I became quite ill and was hospitalized for five long months, far away from Colorado and my dog Murph. Kat took Murphy into her home, boarded him, cared for him, worked/trained him, put up with all of the separation trauma he went through, and loved him the whole time I was away. I do not know anyone else (not a vet, a kennel, friends, or even members of my family) I could have called on who would or could have done this. She sent me letters and pictures and kept me updated while I was away.
When I finally was able to return home and went to pick Murphy up, I found him in absolutely perfect health. Kat had put him on a special diet (Flint River and natural organic bones). He was trim, in shape, and most of all, he was his same old happy self. I was so glad to see him again!
So, I firmly believe that if you have any sort of pet care needs or problems, Kat can certainly help you out.

Hi Kat, Thanks so much for your help Wednesday. Yesterday went quite well. Jackson was "under control" most of the time and we all seemed happier. Rad and Jackson worked well with the new long leash, we tethered him when people came over, I got him more focused on me with food, and we got some "high value treats" and raw bones for his entertainment.

Kat has brought about extraordinary results with our yellow lab, and for that my wife and I are forever grateful. For most of her life, our dog has been moderately overweight. By shifting our dog over to Flint River and carefully educating us and monitoring the transition, our dog lost 20 lbs. and is in a normal, healthy weight range for the first time in years! All of our friends who see her can't believe how healthy and good she looks now. Also, our dog has always enjoyed fetching, but rarely would release the ball back to us. We had Kat walk our dog a few times, and later found out she went an extra mile and did some release training with her because she noticed the same issue. Ever since that point, our dog is responding to a “release” command, which is something we’ve been unable to accomplish up to this point on our own. How Kat is able to get such quick results is quite unbelievable to us. We now highly recommend Kat’s services to everyone we know. Thanks Kat!

Murphy and family are making fast improvements to a scary situation

I think we are making good progress. I keep dog treats right by the doors so if I have to run outside and call Murphy I can grab a treat. He is coming when called and I have stopped his escalation when a dog walks by. He also comes immediately when I call him away from the fence. Yesterday I heard him barking and when I got outside he was standing in the driveway barking but not aggressively. I called him and he came immediately and I gave him a treat and he forgot about the dog he was barking at. As for sitting and staying, he recognizes the hand signals and I rarely say anything. He will stay for as long as the count of 20 and I have backed up about 6 feet. At feeding time, I feed Charlie in the house and I feed Murphy in the garage and I ask Murphy to calm down before I feed him. I have noticed that both dogs are not bolting their food like they used to. I would like to feed them together, but I want to see if I can't control the frantic feeding behaviors first. It is easier to work with Murphy when Charlie isn't jumping around us. I still would like to work with Murphy in a public setting with other dogs around. So maybe we can make an appointment for that soon. Thanks for the follow up and your simple tips have helped me to get Murphy's attention away from the fence.

Kat, I want you to know how appreciative we are for your services and experience. We felt very comfortable knowing that our "babies" were in such good hands. Not just anyone can do your job--especially in the mountains of Colorado where the wildlife abounds! Speaking of which....I talked with someone today who lives in the mountains on the other side of Lyons, and she had a rattler experience about 5 days ago as well. She had been in town and returned home to find it on her back step! It was also very aggressive--coiled and ready to strike. She said its the first sighting in her area since she's lived there (about 7 years)! Oh well...I guess that's what keeps Colorado wild, beautiful and mysterious! Thanks again and take care
